How? Rigorus computerized curriculum

  • Small: (Last year we had 3 teachers and under 30 students)

  • Safe: (In a school this size, not much goes unnoticed, and the principal also teaches.)

  •  Rigorous: (Lazy indolence is thwarted.)

  •

  • Examples of the rigorous curriculum:

    1.     To master multiplication, students complete over 1,000 problems an hour.

    2.     Students stay on task for 90 minutes in creative writing.

    3.     Using a stopwatch, we read increasingly difficult passages orally at over 200 wpm.

    4.     We practice memorization skills used by national and world memory champions.

    5.     Students must sign that they are “Willing To Learn”, then keep their promise.

Three signs Arizona Upgrade Academy might be right for your children:

    1. Are they motivated by computers?
    2. Are they bored or performing below their true ability?
    3. Do they feel unaccepted in a big school or get bullied?

    Parent Comments:

What’s it like to be a student?

    1. You have your own computer and earn free internet time.
    2. No frustration or boredom because you work at your own pace.
    3. Fill learning “gaps” without embarrassment.
    4. You will do very well on the AIMS test.

    Student Comments:

“When you walk into the classroom, you feel welcomed and safe. You can just feel the difference.”  “It’s not like any other school.”  “It takes a while to get used to working that hard, but then it starts getting easy, and it’s totally worth it!” “Here, it’s all about the student.”
